Software Licence

This is the End User Licence Agreement (“Licence”) for Qeepa, the macOS application (“the App”). It applies alongside our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. If there is a conflict between this Licence and the Terms on a point specific to using the App, this Licence controls.

Qeepa is sold as a one-time purchase through our reseller, Lemon Squeezy (qeepa.lemonsqueezy.com), which is the merchant of record for your transaction. Julian Stephens, trading as Qeepa (“we”, “us”, “our”), remains the licensor of the App itself, and Lemon Squeezy’s own buyer terms govern the sale.

The licence we grant you

When you purchase Qeepa, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the App, subject to this Licence and our Terms. This licence does not transfer ownership of the App or any intellectual property in it to you.

Licence keys and activation

Each purchase issues a licence key. On first launch, the App requires you to activate this key online. Activation registers your licence key together with a random identifier generated for that installation (not a hardware fingerprint) against Lemon Squeezy’s activation service.

A licence key may be activated on one Mac at a time. To move the App to a different Mac, deactivate the key on your current device first (see “Moving to a new Mac” below).

Ongoing validation and offline use

The App periodically re-validates your licence key in the background, roughly once every 24 hours, while it has an internet connection. If the App cannot reach our licensing service — because you are offline, because of a service outage, or for any other reason — it keeps working normally. Losing contact with our servers never disables a copy of Qeepa you have paid for.

The App will only stop working if our licensing service gives a definitive answer that your key has been refunded, disabled, or expired, or that this device’s specific activation has been removed. This is what makes the promise on our website true: Qeepa is a one-time purchase you own forever, with no subscription required.

Moving to a new Mac

You can free up your licence key’s activation at any time from Qeepa’s Settings, using “Deactivate this device.” Once deactivated, you can activate the same key on another Mac.

Refunds

If you receive a refund under our Money-Back Guarantee or through Lemon Squeezy, your licence key is disabled and this Licence ends. See our Refunds page for how refunds are handled.

What updates are included

Your purchase includes all core photo-related updates to the version of Qeepa you bought. Additional, supplementary features released after your purchase — such as video support, integrations, or in-depth insights — may be offered under a different plan and are not guaranteed to be included at no extra cost.

Open-source components

Qeepa includes open-source components that are licensed under their own terms. Their licences and notices are included with the App (Settings → Open-source licences) and take precedence over this Licence for those components. Nothing in this Licence limits your rights under those licences, including, where a component’s licence (such as the LGPL) requires it, the right to modify that component and to reverse engineer the App to debug such modifications.

Restrictions

You must not:

• decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits this despite this restriction, or as allowed under “Open-source components” above;
• remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices in the App;
• rent, lease, sell, sublicense, or otherwise transfer your licence key or the App to anyone else; or
• circumvent or attempt to circumvent the App’s licence activation or validation.

Term and termination

This Licence remains in effect for as long as you comply with its terms, for the version(s) of the App covered by “What updates are included” above. We may terminate this Licence if you materially breach it. On termination, you must stop using the App and delete any copies in your possession.

No warranty

The App is provided on an “as is” basis, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, as set out in the “Disclaimer of Warranties” and “Limitation of Liability” sections of our Terms. Nothing in this Licence limits any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by agreement.
